Clearance Officer - (Hybrid) - Bayside, NY
Full-Time | $80,000–$125,000 Salary + Benefits

We’re seeking an experienced Clearance Officer to support underwriting counsel, underwriters, and internal teams with title insurance clearance and transaction-related matters. This role is ideal for someone with title insurance or legal experience who enjoys problem-solving, managing multiple priorities, and ensuring transactions move smoothly and accurately.
What You’ll Do
• Review title files and clearance requirements for underwriting counsel and underwriters
• Provide file coverage when underwriting counsel or underwriters are unavailable
• Examine entity, trust, estate, payoff, and other clearance documentation
• Prepare affidavits required for closing
• Assist with obtaining Hi-Liability approval from underwriters
• Review closing documents for title-related issues, language, recitations, and exhibits
• Prepare and submit FINCEN documentation and other regulatory paperwork
• Assist with post-closing issues and outstanding clearance matters
• Prepare building loan endorsements and other title policy documents
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve closing and post-closing issues
• Communicate effectively with underwriting, closing, and other internal teams
What We’re Looking For
• 1–4 years of title insurance or relevant legal experience
• Knowledge of title clearance and closing processes preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify documentation issues
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable learning new software and technology quickly
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word
• Experience with title insurance software preferred
• TrackerPro experience is a plus
